Deutsche Großstädte kämpfen gegen das Coronavirus. Der E-Commerce-Handel zieht den Innenstädten die Kaufkraft ab. Eine aktuelle Untersuchung legt neue Einzelhandelszahlen offen.
Innenstädte verlieren Kaufkraft
Die BBE Handelsberatung hat in Kooperation mit MB-Research die neuen Kennziffern zu Einzelhandelszentralität, Einzelhandelsumsatz und -kaufkraft 2020 veröffentlicht. Demzufolge ging der Einzelhandelsumsatz in den sieben größten Städten Deutschlands zurück. Außerdem sank die Zentralitätsziffer (eine Kennzahl, die angibt, ob ein Standort von außerhalb mehr Kaufkraft bindet als er an andere Städte verliert) in vieren der größten Städte, die Umsatzkennziffer (setzt den lokalen Umsatz in Relation zum Deutschland-Durchschnitt) in fünf von sieben. Die Analysten betrachteten alle Gemeinden mit mehr als 10.000 Einwohnern in Deutschland.
„In den kommenden Jahren wird es spannend sein zu sehen, wie stark sich Corona auf den E-Commerce ausgewirkt hat – und wie nachhaltig dessen Bindung von Kaufkraft sein wird.“ – Markus Wotruba, Leiter Standortforschung von der BBE Handelsberatung, in einer Pressemeldung.
München liegt vorn
Nach den neuen Zahlen liegt die bayerische Landeshauptstadt München in Sachen Pro-Kopf-Umsatz und Kaufkraft ganz vorn. Mit einem Pro-Kopf-Umsatz von 8.658 Euro liegt sie knapp 600 Euro vor dem Zweitplatzierten Düsseldorf (8.025 Euro) und Stuttgart, dem dritten Platz (7.777 Euro).
Einzelhandel erstarkt wieder
Dem Statistischen Bundesamt zufolge liegt der Einzelhandelsumsatz auf ganz Deutschland gerechnet derzeit über dem Niveau von vor einem Jahr. Im Vergleich zum Juli 2019 stieg der Einzelhandelsumsatz im Juli 2020 um 4,2 Prozent. Gegenüber dem Vormonat Juni allerdings sank der Umsatz um minus 0,9 Prozent. Dabei handelt es sich noch um vorläufige Zahlen. Hierbei stellte sich der Einzelhandel mit Lebensmitteln, Getränken und Tabakwaren als stärker heraus und setzte 4,2 Prozent (real) mehr um als im Juli 2019. Der Facheinzelhandel mit Lebensmitteln dagegen legte um 0,4 Prozent (real) zu. Zum ersten Mal seit Beginn der Pandemie erwirtschaftete der Lebensmittel-Facheinzelhandel mehr Umsatz als im Vorjahr.
Großhandel noch im Minus
Anders sieht es beim Großhandel aus. Wie das Statistische Bundesamt am Freitag in Wiesbaden mitteilte, lagen die Verkaufspreise im August 2020 um 2,2 Prozent niedriger als noch im Vormonat August. Im Juli hatte die Jahresdifferenz minus 2,6 Prozent betragen, im Juni minus 3,3 Prozent. Den größten Einfluss hatten demzufolge die niedrigen Preise im Großhandel mit Mineralölerzeugnissen, die um minus 16,9 Prozent einbrachen.
